Wage: $15.00 per hour
Position Summary
The Cook is responsible for preparing quality food on a timely and accurate basis to the guest’s specifications based on established guidelines.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Provides exceptional and professional service to our guests and team members
- Ensures the well-being of our guests and team members by being alert to and reporting potential hazards
- Models all Deerhurst Resort Standards while caring for the guests, co-workers and owners
- Comfortable making responsible decisions and develops recommendations for effective problem solving
- Maintains a high focus on sanitation and working clean
- Handles and stores food as per the sanitary guidelines
- Complies with all loss prevention guidelines
- Reports any faulty equipment immediately
- Cooks food to order per recipe card and plating guide
- Recognizes quality standards in fresh vegetables, fish, dairy and other meat products
- Completes all other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Any culinary work experience
- Desire to attend Post-Secondary education for culinary
- Completion of Food Safety/Food Handler courses (Asset)
- Is flexible with their schedule, able to work long hours, shift work, evenings, weekends and holidays as business levels require
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
- Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
Visa Requirements: Must be eligible to work in Canada.
