Concierge – Guest Reception
Role Summary
Reporting to the Guest Reception leadership team, the concierge is responsible for anticipating
guest needs and assisting guests with making reservations in the outlets, spa or recreation
programs. The concierge is responsible for providing each guest with a personalized experience they
will remember.
Accountabilities
• Build strong relationships with local community and local businesses
• Act as an ambassador of the JW Marriott brand and the local area
• Act as a lobby ambassador by greeting and assisting guests during arrival and departure
experience
• Provide a timely response to guest inquires and requests
• Provide guests with detailed descriptions of activities and events and confirm enrolment or
sign up of event with guests
• Arrange transportation for guests/visitors when necessary
• Be knowledgeable about current and upcoming special events and activities throughout the
hotel
• Promote recreation activities and outlets to guests
• Provide concise and accurate directions to guests
• Check in and check out guests and provide assistance with luggage
• Welcome and acknowledge each and every guest with a smile, eye contact and a friendly verbal
greeting using the guests’ names when possible
• Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working
environment with active participation in the health and safety program
• Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements
• Degree, diploma or certificate in hospitality, travel & tourism or other related discipline
• Work experience in the hospitality industry an asset
• Strong knowledge of the resort facilities and services and local area
• Strong communication and conversation skills
• Experience with a property management systems
• Proficient with computer systems, and ability to learn new programs
Working Conditions
• Required to move, lift, carry, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50
pounds without assistance
• Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire shift
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting and pulling
• Move over sloping, uneven or slippery surfaces
