Position Overview

As a Resort Custodian, you should share a passion for service excellence and infuse enthusiasm into everything you so.  You take pride in ensuring that all public areas of the resort are kept clean and tidy. EXECUTIONAL EXCELLENCE

Under the direction of the Housekeeping Manager, you will:

  • Clean public restrooms and replenish products.
  • Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors in all Cabot Cape Breton public areas.
  • Wipe and dust all surfaces in Cabot Cape Breton public areas.
  • Clean all mirrors and inside of windows.
  • Maintain cleanliness of ice machines.
  • Thoroughly clean all guest room doors and ensure cleanliness of corridors.
  • Restock all Public Area bathroom supplies.
  • Empty trash in all public areas.
  • Ensure all cigarette butts are picked up and disposed in designated areas.
  • Remove gum, wall spots, and floor spots with appropriate chemicals.
  • Return and properly tag all lost and found articles to the appropriate location.
  • Perform rotational cleaning duties including steam cleaning carpets as required.
  • Maintain proper usage of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Complete assignment sheet and logbook for every shift.
  • Report to Front Desk at the completion of shift.
  • Follow departmental policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Report necessary repair items to Maintenance department.
  • Comply with proper security, fire regulation, and all health and safety policies.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Valid Class 5 Nova Scotia Driver’s License is required.
  • Hotel industry experience – previous experience an asset.
  • High school diploma and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to spend long hours moving around, walking, sitting, standing, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling and/or lifting.
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently or constantly lift, carry, push, or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to ascend or descend, stairs and ramps on an occasional basis.
