Night Auditor

DEPARTMENT: Front Desk REPORTS TO: Guest Services Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: The Night Auditor is expected to perform prompt and efficient balancing of the day’s transactions of the entire resort

ACCOUNTABILITIES: The Night Auditor is responsible for greeting, registering and checking out hotel guests during their shifts while completing charges and settlements for room, restaurant and bar daily work, maintaining accounts to ensure the systems are resettled for the next days operations. This person is also responsible for the smooth operation to oversee all functions to ensure that all standard operating procedures pertinent to Liscombe Lodge Resort are followed.

DUTIES & FUNCTIONS

· Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner

· To read and act upon the daily correspondence file and review with previous shift any and all correspondence

· Maintain regular attendance, as required by scheduling

· Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper dressy casual attire and nametag when working

· Comply at all times with Liscombe Lodge Resort standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations

· To check and balance all revenues for the day-to-day receipts

· To ring off all debit card machines and balance

· To preview night audit and check reports before running night audit

· To prepare and maintain an accurate daily revenue sheet

· To run off all reports for all departments as required for the next day

· To check the day’s arrivals and prepare folios and keys for all assigned rooms

· To maintain an accurate control on the availability of rooms by way of WebRez

· To receive incoming calls in respect to general information and reservation requests

· To greet and register incoming guests and then prepare guests folio and information slips

· To be a source of information to guests on the lodge facilities, features and activities in the local area

· To be familiar with WebRez System

· To be responsible for balancing a cash float

· Handle all guest problems and complaints in a calm, understanding fashion and be able to think through non-routine situations

· Give Wake Up Calls

· Balance number of rooms and revenue

· Balance Guest Services and Food and Beverage cashier’s work

· Make Credit Card Deposits

· Review house count for availability and rates

· Balance bank daily

· Operation of switchboard and 2-way radios

· Know all emergency procedures

· Ensure lobby is cleaned to the highest standards

· Responsible for vacuuming carpets and dusting lobby area

· To complete all necessary reports and submit them to the Guest Services Manager at the end of every shift

· Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of all challenges or matters require his/her attention

· Participate in all departmental meetings

· Other duties as required by a supervisor or manager

All employees are to be constantly on the alert for any unsafe or unsecured areas which may threaten the wellbeing of guests or fellow employees or the maintenance and security of the hotel property and react accordingly. All concerns must be reported to your immediate supervisor.

This hotel functions 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. All employees must realize that we schedule as business dictates.
