DEPARTMENT: Maintenance

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: The Marina Building Person is expected to perform maintenance and repair duties for the marina building guest services such as canoes, kayaks, bicycles, etc. Interact with guests; assist with maintenance duties, security duties, and any other duties that may be required around the resort during their shifts.

ACCOUNTABILITIES: The Marina Building Person is responsible for ensuring that the property around Marina is maintained in the best possible condition, with the least inconvenience to guests. All encounters with guests, employees and vendors must be in a friendly, service oriented manner.

DUTIES & FUNCTIONS

· Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner

· Maintain regular attendance as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel

· Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper attire and nametag when working

· Comply at all times with standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations

· Must be able to manage the lights and grounds program

· Maintain repair records

· Manage inventory program

· Work totally un supervised

· Maintain logs & emergency log

· Work with contractors

· Make informed decisions regarding the department and the physical plant

· Assist as Property Security as requested

· Keep immediate supervisors fully informed of all challenges or matters requiring his/her attention

· Maintain pool and spa – clean, vacuum, adjust chemical levels, change valves, and replace filters. Maintain records of chemical balances

· Other duties as required

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK UNDER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:

· Variable temperature conditions and noise levels indoors and outdoors

· Around chemicals, fumes and or odour hazards including dust

· Must be able to move quickly and agilely if a situation requiring quick assistance arises

· Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects

· Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, bend, stretch, twist or reach with your body and arms, climb and descend stairs

All employees are to be constantly on the alert for any unsafe or unsecured areas which may threaten the wellbeing of guests or fellow employees or the maintenance and security of the hotel property and react accordingly. All concerns must be reported to your immediate supervisor.

This hotel functions 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. All employees must realize that we schedule as business dictates.
