BHTM Summer 2021 Internship (May – October) – Dining Room Bartender – Pictou Beach Lodge – Pictou, NS

Position:  Dining Room Bartender

General Purpose:  To prepare and serve drinks prepared at the restaurant bar

Reports to: Dining Room Supervisor

Critical Skills:

  • Ability to contribute to a friendly atmosphere of superior guest service and quality dining experience
  • Ability to contribute to a positive a positive, cooperative work environment between staff, department heads, and management.
  • Working knowledge of property standards
  • Working knowledge of menus
  • Courteous, patient, good memory, superior communicate skills, basic math skills
  • Work in a fast paced environment

Main Duties:

  • Provide superior guest services and ensure guest satisfaction
  • To liaise with Dining Room Supervisor and notify areas needing attention or operational inconsistencies
  • To be correctly and smartly dressed at all times and maintain highest level of personal hygiene.
  • To deal with problems or complaints.
  • To perform daily workload as per checklist
  • To keep work area and equipment is maintained clean, safe, and appealing.
  • Keep workstations stocked and in good order
  • To prepare drinks, cocktails, alcoholic, and non alcoholic beverages
  • Have superior knowledge of bar menus
  • To ensure OH&S and fire safety standards are upheld at all times
  • To communicate to guests about restaurant promotions, local attractions, and points of interest
  • To have working knowledge of policies and procedures.
  • To abide by all food safety laws
  • To abide by all “Serve Safe” liquor laws
