Event Assistant, Marketing, Communications & Recruitment
The Event Assistant will work with the Cape Breton University Events Team on various internal and external events and conferences.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist in event set ups and take downs
- Organize event and conference material
- Keep inventory of event and conference material
- Assist with room booking system when required
- Assist with event execution and overall promotion CBU experience
Qualifications:
- Organized
- Knowledgeable about the CBU campus and locations
- Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions
- Enthusiastic, energetic, detailed oriented
- Ability to multitask
- Being enrolled Bachelor of Hospitality & Tourism Management program is an asset but not necessary
Cape Breton University’s Work Study Program is an on-campus employment program open to full time, current/returning students who are in good academic standing.
Learning Outcomes:
- Read and then create a BEO, banquet event order
- Properly set a space for various events, taking into consideration presenter’s needs, catering, health and safety guidelines
- Schedule multiple events at one time and how to prioritize task lists
