Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFP) Cooperative Development Intern
The Confederacy of Mainland Mi’kmaq (The CMM) is a Tribal Council representing the eight Mi’kmaq communities of mainland Nova Scotia. Our mission is to proactively promote and assist Mi’kmaq communities’ initiatives towards self-determination and enhancement of community. The CMM’s Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) is currently looking to fill the role of Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFP) Cooperative Development Intern. This is an 8-week contract position.
Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Senior Director of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and reporting to the DENR Program Manager, the NTFP Cooperative Development Intern will be mainly responsible for supporting the development of the final stages of the Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFP) Cooperative business. Activities will include registering business and business name, creating outreach materials and resources to engage Mi’kmaq community members and outside organizations/groups on NTFPs and cooperative businesses, attending and assisting in planned events such as webinars, visiting communities to be involved and included with their meetings/events, as well as attending local markets to support Mi’kmaq crafters, artisans and those working with NTFP products.
