Job description: The Customer Service Representative will be responsible for ensuring high quality customer service in the Food Hub’s retail store. This position will collaborate with management and distribution teams to ensure optimal consumer engagement and service. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about local food and loves being part of a team! This position will also assist with special events and marketing when needed. Training will be provided. 



The individual hired during this period under the Canada Summer Jobs Program must be:

  • Between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
  • Is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act*
  • Is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.

*International students are not eligible.  Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.


Job Duties: 

  • Manage storefront operations including customer transactions and assistance
  • Deal with customer complaints and feedback
  • Maintain product stock and orderliness
  • Responsible for cleaning and store organization
  • Ensure food safety is maintained by checking food product expiries etc.
  • Assist with Thursday distribution day activities including packing, sorting, and assisting food hub volunteers
  • Assist with special events and workshops
  • Create marketing content and work with marketing team to promote operations

  • Duration and hours: 35 hrs a week @ $13.35 for a duration of 8 weeks.
