Summary of Responsibilities: 

Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:  

 

  • Follow company policies, procedures and service standards. 
  • Must be enthusiastic, outgoing, positive, pleasant and accommodating. 
  • Make every guest feel welcome when you greet them at the door. 
  • Control the flow of guests in dining room to ensure prompt service. 
  • Manage a seating chart and seat guests appropriately. 
  • Engage in friendly conversation as you seat the guests in a timely fashion. 
  • Introduce guests to their server as you hand out menus. 
  • Answer the phone for general customer service and reservations. 
  • Receiving and recording guest’s reservations and assigning tables. 
  • Assist with take-out orders if needed. 
  • Cleaning and resetting dirty tables. 
  • Assist servers when needed. 
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of entryway. 
  • Always sincerely thanking guests as they leave and inviting them to return. 
  • Perform additional duties as requested. 

 

Qualifications and Key Attributes: 

 

  • A minimum of 1yr customer service and/or restaurant experience. 
  • Good organization and multi-tasking skills. 
  • Ability to prioritize. 
  • Ability to think ahead. 
  • Problem solving ability. 
  • Excellent communication skills, a pleasant and professional phone manner. 
  • High level of attention to detail. 
  • Ability to take direction. 
  • Must have sincere desire to please guests and willing to go the extra mile. 
  • The ability to work well under pressure, high energy and self- motivated. 
  • Physically fit to lift, stand and walk for the duration of the shift. 
  • Must be a team player. 

 

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): 

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift. 
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 20pds. 
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting. 

 

Visa Requirements: Candidates must hold the proper work authorization to legally work in Canada.
