About Us
4.5 Star all season accessible accommodations. Located in Inverness, Nova Scotia on Cape Breton Island, a world-renowned tourist destination. We are a small operation offering four luxury villas and one apartment, all at one convenient location. Limited staff housing is available for seasonal or year-round occupancy.
Job purpose
Our goal is to provide full home luxury vacations, creating a relaxing stay for our guests. The Property Services Coordinator will provide timely maintenance and upkeep of our facilities, both indoors and out. Communication with guests and staff is key to a successful team and this position makes everything come together on site. The Property Services Coordinator will ensure signs, parking, landscape, and buildings are looking great and ready for our guests’ stress free, enjoyable vacation.
Duties and responsibilities
The Property Services Coordinator’s role contains but is not limited to the following:
- Ensure property condition checklists and inspections are completed on time, correcting deficiencies promptly
- Coordinating the maintenance and repair of facilities (booking contractors and materials if needed)
- Ensure a prompt response to reports of maintenance or repair issues, keeping management informed
- Ensure the safe, efficient, and expected operation of our general and in-unit facilities for guests and staff
- Ensure we’re in compliance with waste sorting laws, and working to reduce our waste
- Landscaping and maintaining lawn, plant beds and driveway
- Support our reservations team with scheduled days off, assisting with guest inquiries
- Some assistance with removal and sorting of waste along with resetting of interior and exterior furnishings
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- Education – grade 9 education or equivalent
- Training or 2+ years’ experience in property maintenance
- Minimum 1+ years customer service experience
- Interpersonal Skills –effective communication, team contributor, willingness to learn and positive attitude
- Skills – project planning, task managing, prioritization, dependable
- Physical abilities – must be able to sit, stand, walk or any combination of, for 6+ hours per day
- Professional Certification – no certifications are needed, however, any certifications obtained in travel, hospitality, WHMIS, OHS, building or property maintenance or leadership would be considered an asset
Working conditions
- Schedule – must be able and willing to work rotating weekend and evening shifts in summer season
- Physical Environment –required indoor and outdoor work environments, use of phone and laptop
- Equipment – operating equipment such as mower or tractor is required in summer season
Direct reports
You will have no direct reports, though you will be providing leadership to team members in our busy season as they focus on guest arrivals and resetting interior standards after check-out.
Accommodations are available. Semi-private accommodations with kitchen, laundry, and private bath. Fully furnished and equipped. Includes free wi-fi, satellite tv, parking, heat, lights, and water. Maximum rent $200 per week.
