About the Department:

Marine Atlantic’s Internal Audit Department provides an independent and objective assurance and consulting service, adding value, and assisting MAI in achieving its strategic objectives. Internal Audit provides risk-based insights and advice across all areas of the organization with a focus on strategic objectives and core operations. The internal Audit department follows the standards and guidance of the Institute of Internal Auditors in completing its mandate

About the Position:

This position will offer the COOP student an opportunity to obtain and develop skills in business analysis, consulting, audit methodology as well as risk and internal control. The student will gain office software skills through the creation and updating of databases, spreadsheets, forms, and reports. The student will perform data analysis using Excel and Tableau. This position will work collaboratively as part of the internal audit team working directly with Internal Auditors and the internal Audit Manager.

MAI will provide the student with a workspace location, laptop, and all necessary essentials for their work with Marine Atlantic.

Your Qualifications:

As the Internal Audit Co-Op student, you are a problem solver who uses strong communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders in service of the department. In this position, you must have the ability to be self-motivated while also accepting constructive criticism. The ideal candidate will exhibit professionalism, ethical conduct, and have strong interpersonal skills.

  • Assisting with Internal Audit projects
  • Data Analysis
  • Document Review
  • Gap Analysis
  • Assisting with audit documentation
  • Attending audit project meetings
  • Other duties, as assigned

  • MS Office Suite

Position qualifications include:

  • Business Student participating in a post secondary Co-op placement program
