Cape Breton Centre for Craft and Design
Digital Marketing and Literacy Consultant –
Cape Breton Centre for Craft and Design has a mandate to promote excellence in craft and
design through education and training. The Centre’s role as an integral and leading force within the
craft sector on Cape Breton Island is essentially educational, promotional and developmental. As a
key player within the cultural sector, the Centre also makes a significant contribution to the growth of
the tourism sector and the overall economic development of the Island.
In response to the current global crisis, our current focus is on how to make use of available digital technologies (especially online platforms for sales and marketing) to help grow the craft industry on a regional level and enable our clients to reach national and international audiences.
This summer position has been created to hire a digital marketing or digital content creation-minded student who will support Cape Breton Centre for Craft and Design in our research into those aforementioned digital technologies, and in gaining knowledge of those technologies, they will additionally offer consultation with Cape Breton Centre for Craft and Design clients to support their efforts to “go digital”.
The student may work in coordination with our network of craft organizations to share information and focus efforts. This is a great opportunity to directly apply knowledge being gained in a post-secondary program, and to learn about the bustling craft industry in Atlantic Canada.
