What you will be doing:

  • Create the essential experience and deliver exceptional service for both our internal and external guests
  • Master Opera Sales & Catering and Social Tables to support our function processes
  • Coordinate all administrative tasks to support Event Services and Film Production
  • Conduct client site inspections with extensive knowledge of the Hotels offerings
  • Liaise and collaborate with key operational departments to plan and execute flawless productions and events
  • Work closely with Events team to produce resumes for programs, banquet event orders, floorplans and composing of menus
  • Support Events and Film Production teams with coverage for meetings, conferences, social events and filming
  • Occasional evening and weekend coverage as required for events and film productions
  • Actively participate in daily/weekly/monthly departmental communication meetings
  • Co-lead in a supportive role with the planning and execution of internal and external events
  • Engage in hotel wide initiatives and committees including but not limited to: Recognition, Diversity, Inclusion and Equity, Sustainability, Health and Safety, and Wellness
  • Rotate through and assist in various Events responsibilities including but not limited to: function processes, reporting, site inspections and managing of room blocks
  • Manage projects and any other duties as required by the Director, Event Sales & Services and Sales Executive, Film Production

Your experience and skills include:

  • Hospitality Management Degree or equivalent an asset
  • Experience in sales, event planning and hotel operations an incredible asset
  • Knowledgeable on food and beverage trends and the luxury hotel market
  • Possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, results-oriented and highly motivated individual
  • Proven ability to plan and execute events effectively with a strong attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of Opera Sales & Catering – PMS, Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Social Tables
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Physical Aspects of Position (included but not limited to):

  • Frequent sitting and standing throughout shift 
  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs 
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
