INTENT OF THE PROCESS
When you apply to this staffing process, you are not applying for a specific job, but to be placed on a list of qualified candidates (i.e. pools) for future vacancies. We will create various pools depending on the staffing requirements of the positions (i.e. relevant experience, location, language requirements).
This process may be used to staff similar position or positions at other levels.
This process will be used to staff positions primarily at the Nova Scotia Tax Services Office (Halifax or Sydney, NS) or the Atlantic Regional Office (Dartmouth, NS). Depending on operational requirements some positions may be able to virtually report from a reasonable commuting commuting distance of CRA Office Locations within the Atlantic Region.

WHO CAN APPLY?
Candidates from the general public will have to pay for any expenses related to their participation in this staffing process, as well as any relocation costs if they receive an offer of employment from this process.
Qualified members and former members of the Canadian Forces who receive an offer of employment are not entitled to relocation costs from the CRA. They may, however, be entitled to a final relocation from the Department of National Defence.

ASSET EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
We may use the following asset staffing requirements to screen applications for specific pools. Make sure to clearly demonstrate how you meet them on your candidate profile.
Important: You must upload your education credentials in the education section of your candidate profile and submit all required documents by the closing date and time of this poster. Failure to do so can result in your application not being considered further.
Candidates currently occupying an AU or MG-AFS-05 level position with the CRA are considered to meet the educational requirement and are not required to submit proof of education unless it is requested by the Staffing Board.
Foreign education credentials – In addition to the above requirements, you must provide a verification of Canadian equivalency from a recognized credential assessment service.
Candidates with foreign designations must have their designation confirmed by the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA). Any applicable fees are the responsibility of the candidate.
Experience:
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Candidates who are not currently employed in the Canada Revenue Agency:
At least two years of experience within the last five years working with businesses, partnerships, corporations or trusts in provincial tax administration; a public or parapublic institution; or a private accounting organization.
Experience must include performance of one or more of the following functions and could have been acquired through employment or through an internship to obtain an accounting designation from a recognized professional association (CPA, CGA, CMA, CA).
OR
Have successfully completed the requirements of a Master’s degree program from a recognized postsecondary institution with a specialization in Canadian taxation AND at least one year of experience within the last five years as outlined above.
OR
Candidates who are currently employed in the Canada Revenue Agency:
At least 12 consecutive months of experience within the last five years performing audits or audit support functions at the AU-02 level or higher within the Canada Revenue Agency. Experience should include, but is not limited to, performing and/or managing audits/examinations or audit support functions for the purposes of administering and/or enforcing the Income Tax Act and/or the Excise Tax Act and/or various commodity tax Acts and Legislation.
* If you have spent time in developmental assignments, please provide details and time frames of your assignment(s). We will consider each situation individually to determine if you meet the staffing requirements.
ASSET EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
For some positions, preference may be given to candidates with one or more of the following asset requirements. If you believe you meet any of these, make sure you clearly demonstrate in your experience questionnaire how you meet them, as we may use these to screen applications for those positions.
