Marine Atlantic is currently looking for a Recruiter to work with our Human
Resources department located in North Sydney, NS. This is a term position with
an end date of 31 March 2022.

The Recruiter, reporting to the Recruiting Manager, is responsible for the
recruitment, selection and retention functions; ensuring the intake of qualified
human resources in response to Corporate needs and in keeping with company
policies, practices, collective agreements and applicable legislation.

Additional Key Areas of Responsibility

• Responsible for attracting and recruiting top talent for all levels of the
organization; positions include management, non-union and unionized
• Responsible for all steps in the recruitment process, from job postings
to offer letters.
• Maintain valuable relationships with hiring managers by having
open lines of communication and working together at all steps of
the recruitment process.
• Work with Recruiting Agencies when necessary.
• Apply principles of Diversity and Inclusion at all levels of the recruitment
• Represent the organization at Career Fairs and Community Events that
highlight careers at Marine Atlantic.
• Perform exit interviews.
• Assist with workforce planning, including retirement projections.
• Work diligently, to promote a physically and psychologically safe working
environment, that is diverse, accessible, inclusive and equitable.
• Assist in the accomplishment of company objectives by performing other
related duties as required.

What qualifications do I need to be considered for this opportunity?
Education and Experience

• Degree from a recognized university in a relevant field of study
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience


• A combination of equivalent education, training, and work experience in a
relevant position

Additional Qualifications

• Superior organizational skills and time management skills with a
demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task
• Strong attention to detail
• Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, which have shown
you to be an excellent influencer and relationship builder
• Proven success leading multiple projects at one time
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)

Asset Qualifications

• Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) or progressing
towards obtaining CPHR

Salary: $55,674.24 to $69,592.80 Rate of pay is currently being evaluated.
