We are seeking a recent or soon-to-be graduate to join our Advisory team working in our Risk Consulting practice within the Internal Audit, Risk & Compliance Services service line in the Halifax Office. This position is flexible to commence anytime between January 2020 and October 2020.

Our Internal Audit, Risk & Compliance Services professionals provide a range of assurance and advisory services to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of internal audit functions, enterprise risk management programs, third-party relationships, regulatory compliance, governance and sustainability initiatives. We analyze and assess an organization’s business strategies and related business processes and systems to help management understand and address business objectives, requirements, risks, controls, and improvement opportunities. Our professionals bring both deep technical and industry experience, allowing clients to strengthen their key governance, risk management and compliance efforts while optimizing business performance.

As a Consultant in KPMG’s Risk Consulting practice, you will focus on fundamental business issues that organizations across various industries should address in order to help them flourish. You will work in a project team environment, leveraging your strong collaboration, interpersonal skills and dedication to providing client service excellence.

Role and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be involved in the delivery of client services, including: Assisting organizations with the establishment of internal audit functions, development of risk assessments and internal audit plans

    • Assisting organizations with the establishment of internal audit functions, development of risk assessments and internal audit plans
    • Supporting organizations with the development,implementation,and execution of internal audit plans and projects in an outsourcing or co-sourcing arrangement
    • Assisting organizations with the delivery of specialized internal audit, internal control and regulatory compliance projects
    • Participating in the delivery of internal audit,risk and compliance(financial and operational) related engagement presentations and deliverables to clients
    • Contributing in the development of client engagement plans, deliverables and expectations
    • Simultaneously delivering multiple client engagements of varying size, scope and complexity
    • Completing industry and audit specific research

What you bring to the role:

You have demonstrated academic excellence, strong all-around capabilities and excel in a dynamic and fluid environment. You have an outstanding academic record from your undergraduate degree or graduate program. You are passionate about being involved in your local community and university. You have the ability to handle a broad range of projects with competing priorities and deadlines under pressure. You have exceptional oral and written communication skills. You have a strong sense of personal accountability, and are focused on achieving your personal and career goals. Though not required, you may be considering pursuing further education and designations (e.g. CPA, CIA, CISA, CRMA, PMP etc.).
