Production Assistant – Shivani’s Kitchen – Windsor, NS

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring all food products are executed to company standard
  • Making sure that all inventory levels are properly maintained
  • Support the Production Manager with product development
  • Demonstrate a high level of self-discipline in work habits and work quality

Qualification and Education

  • Must have at least Level 1 certification from culinary school. OR
  • Have trade certificated (Journeyman/Red Seal) in the area of food preparation
  • Must be able to use basic computer applications (word, excel, PowerPoint)


  • Have a least 1-2 years of work experience in food preparation, cooking or similar position
  • Must be able to manage ingredients, products and food cost


Management of Goods and Production

  • Corrective actions to address any inventory variances
  • Make recommendations for maintenance, repair and upkeep of the kitchen, it’s equipment and other areas appropriate


Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Standing for extended periods
  • Completing repetitive tasks
  • Work under pressure and time base task
  • Attention to details
  • Be able to operate basic kitchen/production equipment
  • Be able to lift at least 50lbs (25kg)


Sanitation and Safety

  • Maintaining a spotlessly, clean and sanitized kitchen
  • Maintaining a spotlessly, clean and sanitized production and storage areas
  • Adhering to all food handling and health & safety procedures. Paying special attention to HACCP
  • Ensure strict compliance with Compass Quality Assurance, Health and Safety Program, Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMMIS regulations
