Student Affairs is currently hiring student Peer Success Mentors for positions starting September 5, 2023 – December 2023. Successful candidates will also be considered for continuing positions from January – May
The Peer Success Coordinators will work out of the Advising Centre to provide advising, registration, and online navigation support to students enrolling at CBU each term. They help students transition to university by providing information on CBU’s programs, services, and resources to ensure students are empowered with access to this knowledge throughout the year.
In addition, the Peer Success Mentors will:
- Work independently and as part of the Student Affairs team
- Support the transition of new students to the CBU campus Community
- Help students schedule advising appointments and access advising follow-up registration support
- Assist students in going through Start Smart prior to their advising appointment.
- Host registration support sessions
- Greet incoming students and keep appointments operating smoothly
- Maintain ongoing communication with students, academic advisors, and university faculty and staff
- Teach students how to understand the timetable to create a class schedule
- Teach students to navigate the CBU website, access their CBU email, access their student account, and complete their registration
- Answer email, and virtual inquiries
- Complete various organizational tasks
- Connect students to Academic Success Coaches and help students navigate student support resources at CBU
- Provide Peer Mentorship through social media, hosting events, workshops, communication platforms, and ongoing outreach
- Work with the Student Affairs team on tasks assisting where needed
- Work with other CBU departments on events as needed
- Other duties as assigned
