Part-Time Employment: Fish Plant Labourer

We are currently looking to fill multiple positions in our Louisbourg Seafoods Ltd. processing facilities located in Louisbourg, NS and Glace Bay, NS.

Positions Available:

• Fish Plant Labourer – NOC 9463

Main Duties:

• Set up and operate machines to clean, cut, cook, smoke, brine, dehydrate or otherwise process fish or seafood products
• Set up and operate machines to can, bag, box or otherwise package fish and seafood products
• Check products and packaging for defects and to ensure conformance to company standards and perform corrective machine adjustments as required
• Record production information such as quantity, weight, date and type of products packaged; and
• Disjoint and remove meat from lobsters or other crustaceans preparatory to canning or further processing

Qualifications:

• Ability to work well with others and without direct supervision;
• Reliability;
• Excellent work ethic and a positive attitude considered a necessity;
• Willing to work extended hours on an on-call basis;
• Ability to stand for long periods of time; and
• On-the-job training is required.

Working Materials and PPE:

• Processors will be working with sharp fillet knives, conveyor belts and other processing equipment; and
• Employees wear hair nets (supplied) rubber boots, gloves, and smocks.

Salary: $13.00 – hourly
