Job Summary

As the CAPER Mascot, you will be responsible for bringing to life the character and spirit of our CBU Athletics programs by portraying our beloved Mascot, CAPER. Your role is vital in creating a memorable and entertaining experience for fans, engaging with audiences of all ages, and enhancing the overall fan engagement at events, games, and promotional activities.

Mascot Duties and Responsibilities

• Assume the persona of the CAPER character and convey emotions, energy, and enthusiasm through exaggerated movements, gestures, and body language.
• Perform crowd interactions to entertain and engage fans during games and events.
• Encourage audience participation and posing for photos with fans.
• Assist in marketing campaigns and merchandise sales through Mascot-related promotions.
• Maintain the Mascot costume, ensuring it remains in good condition and is clean and safe for each performance.
• Be punctual and prepared for all performances.

Mascot Requirements and Qualifications

• Excellent physical stamina and endurance to perform in a Mascot costume for extended periods, often in varying weather conditions.
• Strong non-verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey emotions and enthusiasm through physical gestures and expressions.
• A friendly and engaging personality, with the ability to interact positively with fans and represent CBU Athletics professionally.
• Comfortable performing in a confined costume with limited visibility and mobility, adapting to different performance environments and situations.
• Prioritize safety, following safety protocols, and ensuring the well-being of both the performer and fans.
• Flexibility in work hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the organization’s event schedule.
