Accountabilities: The Fuels Finance Co-Op Student is accountable to provide assistance and support to the team. This work will include:

  • Assisting with the month end financial close process by assembling data and preparing journal entries
  • Preparing Balance Sheet and Income Statement account reconciliations
  • Working with the front-office group to reconcile transactions relating to natural gas and

    power

  • Assisting with the processing of payments to counterparties for fuel purchases
  • Generating invoices for purchases of generation from Independent Power Producers
  • Preparing Process documentation
  • Performing analysis on ad-hoc inquiries from other business units.

    You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers, by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.

Skills, Capabilities and Experience:

Minimum 2 years of post-secondary education with a focus on Finance, Accounting or other Business-related programs of study. Must be proficient in MS Office, with strong Excel skills. The successful incumbent will have a strong attention to detail and have the ability to work independently and make decisions.

Reports to: Manager, Fuels Accounting and Reporting

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
