Job Description

Please note: This posting is for a 4-month Fall 2022 Student placement with a start date of September 2022, and end date of December 2022. In order to be eligible for this 4-month Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of December 2022; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in December 2022), you must require the full 4-month work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.

What is the opportunity?

Our team is called “Credit and Enterprise Stress Testing”.  We are a fast growing function within Group Risk Management.  We are currently seeking a bright, high-performing co-op student who wants to become a key contributor to our team growth, and be remembered for noticeable accomplishments.

 

What will you do?

  • Implement and execute tools and procedures required for stress test production and analysis
  • Provide insightful analysis of stress testing results
  • Support other supervisory exercises related to stress testing, including U.S. CCAR scenario design process
  • Contribute to preparation of senior-level report and presentation
  • Build, re-design, code, and test simulation tools involving manipulation of data, valuation process, and reporting of key risk data elements
  • Assist with developing/enhancing the documentation for the new/enhanced tools

 

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Currently pursuing a university degree in an analytical discipline such as Quantitative Finance, Risk Management, Economics, Mathematics, or Business (with a strong preference for an undergraduate in the final year of the program or graduate degree)
  • Sound knowledge of financial statements
  • Advanced skills with Excel
  • Previously worked with PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical skills, can work independently but also be confident in asking questions

 

Nice-to-have

  • Sound programming skills with VBA, SAS, SQL, Python
  • Previously worked in a large financial institution
  • Understanding of some financial concepts such as capital markets, derivatives, credit risk, and/or capital regulatory requirements
