Reports To: Director of Business Development


Job Role:

The Marketing and Social Media Intern plays a key part in the Business Development team through the creation, sharing and measurement of impacts of digital marketing and social media initiatives.  This role presents a unique opportunity to work for an industry leader in a niche market, with exposure across North America and globally.


  • Post-secondary student enrolled in Bachelor of Business, or Business Administration, with a focus on marketing;
  • Understanding of digital marketing tools and social media, and strong computer skills.


Area of Focus:

  • Content creation for social media platforms which could include the development of monthly communication plans;
  • Post online content on the company’s website and social media accounts; continue to build and grow OTS’ social media audience; monitor accounts as directed;
  • Assist in the maintenance, monitoring of, and coordination of OTS’ social media accounts, with overall support and direction from the Sales Team;
  • Evaluate existing marketing materials to assess for any gaps or areas that can be built upon;
  • Compile, sort and store in library data on project Lesson’s Learned;
  • Research competitor marketing and digital content;
  • Participate in team meetings and provide creative design ideas for various company projects including project branding, website updates, email campaigns, collateral and marketing materials;
  • Assists with the development and preparation of presentations and external marketing materials;
  • Take direction from the Director of Business Development and assist where required.
