Co-op: Nova Scotia Power Mi’kmaq Relations

We’re hiring solution-minded people excited to help us grow into the future. We are currently looking to fill the position of Co-op Student to join our Mi’kmaq Relations team.

Accountabilities: The co-op student will assist the team with various tasks including but not limited to:

  • Assisting with activities to engage and build collaborative relationships with Mi’kmawcommunities across Nova Scotia
  • Assisting with the communication and delivery of the Mi’kmaq Relations teams’ programs and activities related to Capital projects
  • Assisting with the preparation and delivery of presentations
  • Management and use of SharePoint site to maintain team documentation
  • Other related tasks as required

    Skills, Capabilities and Experience:

    The successful candidate will be working towards acquiring a Bachelor of Science, Arts, or Community Design degree with an interest in environmental science, sustainability, sociology and or Indigenous studies. Candidates must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications and other typical business applications. The candidate must have strong organizational, written and oral communication skills, have the ability to multi-task, work within deadlines and be able to work well individually as well as part of a team. Previous experience working with Mi’kmawcommunities is a definite asset.
