Please note: This posting is for a 4-month Fall 2022 Student placement with a start date of September 2022, and end date of December 2022. In order to be eligible for this 4-month Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of December 2022; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in December 2022), you must require the full 4-month work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.

What is the opportunity?

RBC is reimagining the role we play in our clients’ lives. We are creating dedicated teams which will operate in a startup like environment separate from the core banking business. We are hiring a Co-op student for the Fall 2022 term (September – December) to join the Ventures Analytics team. As part of the RBC Ventures Analytics you will work directly work with one of RBC’s greatest assets, data. The Ventures Analytics team works closely with each Venture to help use data to imagine new ideas, measure success and collaborate to solve big problems. If you love to learn, be constantly challenged, grow your capabilities in business and data analytics this is the role for you!

What will you do?

  • Work closely with Venture teams to help drive toward measures of success and answering big questions
  • Develop and maintain internal relationships
  • Support monthly reporting and work to automate reporting processes
  • Analyze RBC, Venture and digital data to map the customer journey

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • An ability to work independently and within a team
  • A willingness to learn and continually grow
  • Experience working with and manipulating data in excel
  • Solid understanding and technical skills in data analytics methodologies
  • Basic SQL capabilities
  • Experience in / an interest in learning advanced analytics methodologies and tools (Python, R, machine learning, etc.)

Nice-to-have

  • University degree or courses in a quantitative field of study (e.g. mathematics, engineering, economics, statistics) to demonstrate ability for critical thinking & numerical analysis
  • An ability to tell stories with data
  • Communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in data visualization tools including Tableau
  • Experience with digital analytics tools
