Reporting to: Vice President of Promotions
Purpose: The CBU Students’ Union is currently seeking a Social Media Coordinator starting in August 2020 to April 2021. The successful candidate is to attend all Students’ Union-related events to produce creative digital media content, promote events and services, and market past events. The Social Media Coordinator will also work closely with the VPP to maintain various Students’ Union social media pages.
Responsibilities
- Assist with social media advertising of events and services under the direction of the VP Promotions
- Take videos/photos at events and use materials to promote events on/off campus
- Use collected material to develop promotional items with the Vice President Promotions
- Distribute print material around campus on Students’ Union bulletin boards to ensure information is current
- Build awareness of Students’ Union Centres and Services by creating promotional material
- Help coordinate and enhance student participation in week-long activities such as, Week of Welcome, Healthy Living Week, and Frost Week
- Liaise with societies and Residence Life Coordinators to help engage on and off-campus students through social media for a variety of student events
- Submit a monthly report to the Vice President of Promotions
- All other duties deemed necessary by the Executive Committee.
Qualifications
- Must be a member of the CBU Students’ Union as outlined in Bylaw 1.01 and registered CBU student no later than September 30, 2020
- Must have an interest in photography/videography
- Must be familiar with various social media platforms, such as Facebook/Instagram
- Must be able to work independently and meet strict deadlines
- Must be familiar with computer applications such as; Photoshop, In Design, I-movie, Canva
- Must be willing to attend all Students’ Union related events
- Creativity is a must
- Having own equipment, such as a camera will be considered an asset
