Study and Stay™ Entrepreneurship Program
Are you an aspiring entrepreneur looking to turn your business idea into a reality? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We invite you to participate in the Study and Stay™ Entrepreneurship Program, designed to help student entrepreneurs like you bring your ideas to life.
The program runs from May 17th to August 2nd, 2023, and is open to international and domestic students studying at a Nova Scotian post-secondary institution. During this time, you’ll attend a boot camp where you’ll learn valuable skills, receive support and resources to help you develop your business idea, and participate in customer discovery interviews.
To make things even more exciting, students will have an opportunity to pitch for up to $10,000, with $20,000 awarded to students as they build their ventures during our main in-person Study and Stay™ Entrepreneurship Program event scheduled for August 2nd at Saint Mary’s University. Overview
The Study and Stay™ Entrepreneurship Program will run from May 17th, 2023 – August 2nd, 2023
The opportunity provides student entrepreneurs with a transformational learning
experience, while offering an opportunity to focus on the development of their own business
while surrounded by resources. If you own a business or have an idea and are looking for support
to help move your business forward this summer, apply to the Study and Stay™
Entrepreneurship Program today!
The primary objective of this program is to help students with:
• Fewer cultural barriers
• Clearer path to bright future in Canada
• Access to entrepreneurship and business resources
• Enhanced communication skills and confidence
• Immigration support to international participants
• Expanded professional network
• Engagement opportunities with mentors
• Enhanced access to regional and provincial programs and resources
• Community of student entrepreneurs who can support each other and collaborate on
future projects.
• Providing students with funding opportunities and resources to help launch their
businesses.
Eligibility Criteria for Summer Entrepreneurial Experience:
• Applicant must be domestic or international student studying at a Nova Scotian postsecondary institution, enrolled at one of the following institutions:
Acadia University
Cape Breton University
Dalhousie University (Either
Campus)
Mount Saint Vincent University
Nova Scotia Community College
NSCAD University
St. Francis Xavier University
Saint Mary’s University
Universite Sainte-Anne
University of King’s College
•While there is no set GPA (Grade Point Average) requirement, students are expected to be in good academic standing and to have contributed to their academic and social
communities.
• Participants are required to complete program milestones and have a good attendance during the Study and Stay™ Entrepreneurship Program to be eligible to give a pitch
session during our main in-person event scheduled for August 2nd at Saint Mary’s University to be considered for funding prize money. Students will have an opportunity to
pitch for up to $10,000, with $20,000 to be awarded in total to students as they build their ventures
• You must have a LinkedIn profile.
The program cannot provide you with any kind of work authorization for running your own business, please confirm your eligibility with your Registered International Student Immigration
Advisors (RISIAs) in your campus or institution. You should also be sure that you are able to accept the grant based on your permit. It is your responsibility to determine if your study visa
