Fairmont Banff Springs is now recruiting for the following SWEP Culinary Opportunities:

  • Second Cook
  • Second Cook Pastries/Bakeshop

Successful applicants will be matched to available positions based on previous relevant work experience, area of studies and the hotel’s operational requirements.


Rate of Pay Second Cook: Starting at $16.83 per hour. Full rate after one year is $18.72 per hour.

Your experience and skills include:

  • Currently enrolled in a culinary program
  • Must be returning to school or have a requirement to complete a co-op prior to graduation
  • Previous experience as a cook an asset
  • Ability to work all shifts including overnights as hotel is operation 24 hours a day
  • Adhere to and follow ALLSAFE health and safety protocols
  • Must be able to lift, carry and pull up to 50lbs
  • Standing and walking throughout shift and exposure to kitchen equipment including large and small ovens, stoves, steam kettles, mixers, sheeter, fryers, rational ovens, steamers, tilt skillets, fridges and freezers as well as blast freezers
  • Other duties as assigned
