BHTM Summer Internship: Cabot Links Bartender

As a Bartender at Cabot, you should share a passion for service excellence and infuse enthusiasm into everything you do.  You will be an ambassador for the exceptional service and beverages that are hallmarks of our restaurant experience.

Core Accountabilities:

  • Provide timely, personalized, friendly and efficient service
  • Assist guests regarding all beverage menu items in an informative and helpful way
  • Mix drinks and control the beverage stock as per guidelines
  • Have full knowledge of beverage lists and promotions
  • Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods
  • Monitor the alcohol consumption and ensure that guests are not over served
  • Ensure that overall cleanliness and maintenance of the bar exceeds expectations
  • Ensure guests bills are presented and posted in a timely manner (cash, credit card or room charge)
  • Bring any concerns to the attention of the Manager/Supervisor (related to internal or external guests, food or service quality, operation of the room, physical surroundings)
  • Maintain inventory of product to ensure par stocks are maintained at all times
  • Perform side work, clean-up and opening/closing duties as assigned
  • Comply with proper security, fire regulation, and all health and safety policies
  • Follow departmental policies, procedures and service standards
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience bartending required
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in NS (19)
  • Serve Right certification required
  • Must have experience with Point of Sales systems (i.e. Micros)
  • Must have excellent knowledge of all beverage products (wines, scotches, ports and liqueurs)
  • Must have well defined knowledge of classic cocktails and techniques
  • Ability to work flexible hours – weekends and evenings as required
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multi-task with focus on guest experience
  • Must be professional, personable and well-presented
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have exceptional organizational skills and be detail oriented

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to spend long hours walking and standing
  • Frequently lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs
  • Occasional ascending or descending stairs and ramps
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
