BHTM Summer Internship: Cabot Links Server

As a Server at Cabot, you should share a passion for service excellence and infuse enthusiasm into everything you do. You will be an ambassador for the exceptional service and cuisine that are hallmarks of our dining experience.

Core Accountabilities:

  • Provide timely, personalized, friendly and efficient food and beverage service
  • Serve, refresh, clear and re-set tables in a timely manner
  • Ensure that overall cleanliness and maintenance of our restaurant exceeds expectations
  • Maintain work section in an orderly and timely manner (clearing tables, refreshing beverages, removing food items)
  • Complete side duties in timely manner (side stations properly stocked)
  • Maintain cleanliness of guest washrooms
  • Work with management team to deliver guest satisfaction with dedication and professionalism
  • Takes proper measures to ensure guests bills are presented and posted in a timely manner (cash, credit card or room charge)
  • Bring any concerns to the attention of the Manager/Supervisor On Duty (related to internal or external guests, food or service quality, operation of the room, physical surroundings)
  • Comply with proper security, fire regulation, and all health and safety policies
  • Follow departmental policies, procedures and service standards
  • Always upholds the highest standard of internal and external customer service
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience serving an asset
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in NS (19)
  • Previous hospitality training and education an asset, though not required
  • Serve Right certification required
  • Must have experience with Point of Sales systems (i.e. Micros)
  • Knowledge of wines, scotches, ports and liqueurs an asset
  • Must have some knowledge of international cuisines and cooking techniques
  • Must be professional, personable and well-presented
  • Ability to work flexible hours – weekends and evenings as required
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have exceptional organizational skills and be detail oriented
  • A Degree or Diploma in Hotel/Hospitality or Tourism an asset

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to spend long hours walking and standing
  • Frequently lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Often ascending or descending stairs and ramps
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
