Housekeeping Attendant
DEPARTMENT: Housekeeping
REPORTS TO: Housekeeping Manager
POSITION SUMMARY: The Room Attendant is expected to maintain cleanliness of public areas as well as back of the house and facilities, assist housekeeping in cleaning guestrooms and maintain cleanliness of pool house area.
ACCOUNTABILITIES: The Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining proper cleanliness of guest floors and assisting housekeeping in maintaining guestrooms to achieve high guest satisfaction
DUTIES & FUNCTIONS
· Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner
· Maintain regular attendance as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel
· Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper attire and nametag when working
· Comply at all times with standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
· Check daily assignments/daily duties
· Gather all cleaning supplies and return them daily
· Complete all assigned cleaning duties in designated areas
· Report any problems and repairs required
· Return all borrowed items from hotel rooms to appropriate storage areas
· Vacuum and mop floors
· Service and restock housekeeping closets
· Remove gum, wall spots and floors spots with appropriate chemicals
· Wipe all mirrors, windows, pictures, etc
· Clean Public Restrooms and Areas
· Maintain repair request records
· Handle Dangerous Chemicals
· Manage inventory program
· Work totally unsupervised
· Maintain logs & emergency log
· Keep immediate supervisors fully informed of all challenges or matters requiring his/her attention
· Maintain pool and spa – clean, vacuum
· Ability to Multi-task
· Other duties as required
MUST BE ABLE TO WORK UNDER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
· Variable temperature conditions and noise levels indoors and outdoors
· Around chemicals, fumes and or odour hazards including dust
· Must be able to move quickly and agilely if a situation requiring quick assistance arises
· Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
· Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, bend, stretch, twist or reach with your body and arms, climb and descend stairs
All employees are to be constantly on the alert for any unsafe or unsecured areas which may threaten the wellbeing of guests or fellow employees or the maintenance and security of the hotel property and react accordingly. All concerns must be reported to your immediate supervisor.
This hotel functions 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. All employees must realize that we schedule as business dictates.
