JW Marriott The Rosseau Muskoka is hiring various Recreation positions for the upcoming season which include; life guards, pool attendants, fitness attendant, children’s programming lead and outdoor recreation attendants.

What you will be doing?

• Ensure that all rules and regulations are adhered to, ensuring the safety of the department
• Maintain direct contact with patrons and communicate with them in an effective manner
• Monitor designated areas and responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the area, change rooms and shower areas including picking up equipment and storing it in its proper place, picking up towels and debris, restocking towels, straightening chairs,
• Conducts facility inspections, completes checklists and advises supervisor of any concerns found
• Assists guests with questions regarding the resort, activities and general information
• Assists the recreation department
• Welcome and acknowledge each and every guest with a smile, eye contact and a friendly verbal greeting using the guests’ names when possible
• Assist guest with chairs, tables, umbrellas as applicable
• Take ownership of guest concerns and follow- up
• Communicate guest requests to leaders
• Pick up garbage from guest and return to proper location
• Lead guided activities and games
• Provide information to guests about available recreation facilities and activities
• Work closely with third party partners to ensure smooth communication to guests about additional activities offered
• Maintain safety and security of children and adults participating in recreational activities
• Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program
• Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required
• Other duties as assigned

Your experience and skills include:

• Work experience in the hospitality industry an asset
• Experience with a property management system
• Proficient with computer systems, and ability to learn new programs
• Able to work flexible hours (early morning, evening and occasional split shifts)
• Ability to deal with high-pressure situations in a fast-paced environment
• Solutions-orientated, strong interpersonal skills and problem solving techniques
• Highly motivated and guest driven with a passion to continually exceed expectations and anticipate needs
• Proactive with a demonstrated eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple functions
