Job Summary:

The Recreation Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and developing recreation and all experience-based activities at Inverary Resort to ensure that the Recreation Department is a significant asset to the Resort. Related tasks include participation in Inverary social media accounts, ensuring service quality is excellent, supervising employees ensuring they adhere to services and safety standards, performing other duties as necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee operation of Inverary Adventure Centre
  • Develop, execute and evaluate programs, activities and events in and around the resort to ensure they contribute to Inverary brand and provide a special guest experience
  • Develop training programs and train new and existing employees on services offered and creating the desired experience.
  • Hire employees and evaluate performance on a regular basis
  • Actively and constantly manage employee productivity
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and adjust services offered when appropriate
  • Engage is sales programs to increase sales at the Adventure Centre and provide new and exciting experiences at Inverary, including the creation of local promotions
  • Engage guests and act as an Inverary brand ambassador
  • Respond to and help with customer inquiries and concerns
  • Play a key role in guest and employee safety and security
  • Perform supervisory and front-line duties as needed
  • Provide support and direction to all recreation team members
  • Actively contribute content to social media accounts, providing interesting and engaging material to our followers
  • Detailed knowledge of Inverary products and services very important
  • Maintain familiarity with local attractions and events
  • Maintain open communication with other department heads
  • Be continually aware of, and enforce, the highest standards of personal hygiene and dress
  • Attend meetings and training courses as required
  • Any other duties as required

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • A certificate or diploma in a related field preferred
  • Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills
  • (2) years of customer service experience
  • (2) years supervisory/management experience a definite asset
  • Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively and lead a team in a diverse working environment
  • Able to effectively communicate in the English language both verbally and in writing
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail and creativity
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times

Working Conditions

  • Morning, evening, and weekend shifts as well as overtime as required.
  • Lifting or moving up to 30 lbs may be required
  • Frequent bending, lifting, pulling and pushing
