BIOVECTRA Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.

BIOVECTRA Inc. has an opening for an Analytical Development and Support -Student. This is position is in Charlottetown, PEI.  This is a 4-8-month student term (May to August/December).

The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Organizing and cleaning glassware.
  • General housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness of laboratory equipment and workspaces.
  • Ensuring the correct status labelling of reagents and instrumentation in the Analytical PD laboratory.
  • Assisting scientists in routine testing to support development work in the PD group through reagent preparation and routine testing.
  • Maintaining accurate, real-time records of all laboratory activities.
  • Complying with approved safety practices for the laboratory facility.
  • Adhering to BIOVECTRA’s Health and Safety Policy as outlined in CP0010 Occupational Health and Safety Policy, Statements of Principle, and Responsibilities.
  • Additional duties assigned, based on business needs and the department supervisor’s request.

The successful candidate for this position should have:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field
  • Knowledge of analytical methodology, including: UV, HPLC and SDS-PAGE.

Entry: $18.00 per hour
