Who can apply: • A full-time secondary or post-secondary student in an accredited institution
• Currently recognized as having full-time student status by the academic institution in which you are presently enrolled.

The Student Heritage Resident Artist is required to respond to the life and legacy of Mabel Hubbard Bell through their chosen medium(s). Additionally, the Artist is required to work in a public environment in order to respond to visitor inquiries and provide information on their subject, the work being produced and the potential outcomes of their work.

Intent of the process

Parks Canada is looking for a youth Student Heritage Resident Artist this year! This is an exciting opportunity for an emerging creative to be a part of the 100th anniversary legacy celebration of Mabel Hubbard Bell. Hubbard Bell was a dynamic and active community organizer, as well as being the driving force behind Alexander Graham Bell’s success. From food security to creativity and social events, she was an integral part of building a resilient and thriving community in Baddeck and beyond. Parks Canada is inviting an emerging Artist or Craftsperson to create and respond, in real time, to this incredible pioneering Feminist within the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site.
