Learning for a Sustainable Future (LSF) is a Canadian charity founded in 1991 to promote, through education, the knowledge, skills, values, perspectives, and practices essential for a sustainable future. Working with business, governments, school boards, universities, communities, educators, and youth, LSF’s innovative programs and strategic partnerships are reshaping education policy and transforming learning methods.
LSF will provide MEd SCI students with access to research, resources, programs and best practices in applying Sustainability, Creativity and Innovation into practice, including:
- LSF’s newest resource, Connecting the Dots: Key Strategies that Transform Learning for Environmental Education, Citizenship and Sustainability presents a systems perspective of education that aligns with the latest in education research and practice.
- LSF’s Engaging Students in Sustainable Action Projects (ESSAP) guide which focuses on engaging students in successful environmental/social justice action projects
- Workshops that model 7 strategies for transformational learning that help educators meet the needs of 21st century learners, based on LSF’s Connecting the Dots resource (http://lsf-lst.ca/dots)
- Access to over 1250 peer-reviewed curriculum-matched lesson plans, videos, children’s literature and outdoor activities that address sustainability themesthrough the Resources for Rethinking database (r4r.ca)
