Connecting Past & Present
History is the study of the human past. Historians analyze the causes and consequences of change over time. The study of History also takes the present into account, seeking to expand our knowledge of our own experiences through a deeper understanding of the past.
What Is The Study of History?
Home to award-winning teachers and cutting-edge researchers, the History program at CBU offers a unique perspective on the past. Cape Breton is home to diverse and deep historic roots, giving students a look at history that can only be found on the Island.
Through CBU’s History program, thought-provoking material and a diverse course selection is offered to students. Due to personal education experience with smaller classes, there’s ample opportunity to conduct original, independent research in your first year of study.
