Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts Community Studies (BACS) Applied Theatre major are required to complete 30 credits in the BACS core as part of their four year degree. The core includes two 3-credit work placements (COMS 2101 and 3101) and a full-year self-directed project (COMS 4100); all 12 credits must focus on applied theatre.
48 credits must be taken in the area of Applied Theatre (at least 24 credits in DRAM, 12 credits in ENGL or relevant courses, and 6 credits in courses from a variety of disciplines designated AEP). Of the 48 credits required in the Major subject, there is a maximum of 9 credits at the 1000 level and a minimum of 24 credits at the 3000 or 4000 level, of which at least 9 credits must be at the 4000 level. These requirements apply collectively to courses taken towards the major, regardless of discipline.
