Gearing up for A National Conference

For the first time since the In.Business program was launched in 2011, students from all five regions will gather for the Inaugural In.Business National Conference! All students (close to 200) had the opportunity to participate in an optional video challenge. Twenty-seven opted to submit a video – 10 students (2 from each region) were selected and received an invitation to our national conference on May 16-17 in Membertou, NS.

Our winners are:

Kyesha Fong, St-Joseph Scollard Hall, Nipissing First Nation, ON
Curtis Pelletier, Lasalle Secondary School, Sudbury, ON
Faith Quewezance, Bedford Road Collegiate, Saskatoon, SK
Justice Perkins, Bedford Road Collegiate, Saskatoon, SK
Haily Hemstead , Robron Outreach, Campbell River, BC
Shaina Currie, Cowichan Secondary, Duncan, BC

The National Conference is taking place in conjunction with the launch of our new textbook “Indigenous Business in Canada: Principles and Practices,” as well as a significant funding announcement specific to the In.Business program. The students are very much looking forward to spending 2 days together in Unama’ki. Congrats to all those who were selected. We look forward to hosting you in a few weeks!
