On Saturday, September 27, 2014, Cape Breton University invites you to its first cultural festival, “Multiversity,” at the Marine Terminal Grounds in downtown Sydney between 12 and 5pm. This event will showcase a variety of the cultures from around the world that are represented at CBU, as well as local cultures including Celtic, First Nations and many others. Multiversity will act as a welcome to students and help to familiarize our new students with the local community. This event will also invite our wider community to experience the diversity that we are lucky to see each day at CBU.
Multiversity will include food and craft vendors, entertainment, children’s activities, and information kiosks that showcase the many different cultures represented in our community. Local talent will include the Sons of Membertou, Endnotes, and Dave Sampson and Breagh MacKinnon, as well as entertainment by students from across the globe and much more.
This will be an outdoor tented event and admission is free!
Lumiere – “Contemporary Art. Unconventional Spaces” will be taking place following the festival from 6:57pm–11:57pm. For more information you can visit http://www.lumierecapebreton.ca/.
We hope to see you in downtown Sydney on September 27th!
