Five Students to Pursue Business Administration

The month of April saw students work on two BBM challenges on a variety of business related topics.  Students were required to post their challenges to Facebook and to their own personal blogs.  Some of the topics addressed were: creating a yearly budget for university, analyzing marketing campaigns, researching Canadian business schools, and hosting cultural events to generate business, just to name a few. As we approach the end of the school year, our grade 12 students are making decisions regarding their futures. Of the 13 students who will be graduating in June, ten will be pursuing post secondary education, five of whom have chosen business administration!

Students, mentors, and supporters of the Business Network for Aboriginal Youth will congregate in Dartmouth on May 30th and 31st for our closing gathering. During this two day event, students will attend a speech by a recent Aboriginal university graduate currently working in the field, participate in a business simulation with their group, compete in our annual Rant Your Resume competition, and talk business with Mr. Joe Shannon and Mr. Purdy Crawford, both inductees into the Canadian Business Hall of Fame. It is certainly shaping up to be an exciting conclusion to an incredible year for the Business Network for Aboriginal Youth!
