Job/Project Description: Finance Lab Assistant (Database)

To support student use of Eikon Thomson Reuters database for students taking upper level courses in finance.

Tasks:

The intern will be assigned tasks including but not limited to:

  • Introducing students to basics of using Eikon to collect and collate financial data: panel, cross-section and time series for use in class projects.
  • Assisting students with use of a variety of apps and templates for capital budgeting, valuation, portfolio analytics and forecasting.Other duties as they arise.

Qualifications:

  • This position is for an upper year student with an interest in data analysis and research methods with applications to finance
  • Strong desire to learn
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to commit an average of 8-12 hours per week and communicate effectively with students
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Organized and efficient worker; ability to keep track of multiple projects and tasks

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Consultations with finance instructors on Eikon/finance lab sessions
  • Feedback on proficiency of students in Eikon applications and integration of data analysis in assigned finance projects

Hours:  All positions are part-time, hours TBD
