Job/Project Description:

Environmental Lab Research Assistants are highly motivated, conscientious, enthusiastic individuals working in the VCSEE laboratory to support on going research, especial in water remediation and environmental nanotechnology. Expectations include a self-motivated person who is an independent worker to help organise literature and data from on going research projects.

Responsibilities

Tasks:
The Intern will be assigned tasks including but not limited to:

  • Literature review, and literature database organisation
  • Water sample processing
  • Data entry, coding and analysis
  • Other duties as assigned

Responsibilities:
The incumbent will be responsible, intra alia, organising literature into Endnote database, searching and reviewing literature to support on-going research, assist in data entry and analysis. Mostly the work will be related to research on pharmaceuticals in waste water

Student Qualifications:

Students from any academic background are encouraged to apply. However, we are looking for students who have interest or knowledge in:

  • Analytical chemistry procedures
  • Pharmaceuticals in the environment and water
  • Statistics and data analysis skill

Good computer skill mostly with emphasis on scientific software

End Date:  Mid-December

Hours:  All positions are part time, hours TBD
