Job Description:

 We are looking for a creative team player with a passion for Canada’s natural and cultural history and helping Parks Canada share it with Canadians! Be part of a small, dynamic communications, promotion and marketing team located at the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site. Work where you can challenge yourself constantly and grow daily. The work is full of variety; we don’t want you getting bored easily!

You’ll support various marketing and promotions projects at the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Writing communications materials (newsletters, articles, web text)
  • Knowledge of marketing trends is an asset
  • Graphic design skills are an asset
  • Social media experience is an asset
  • Photography skills are an asset

Language Requirement: 

 English essential, French and other languages are an asset

Responsibilities

Typical tasks may include:

  • Develop marketing plans for Parks Canada events and products that line up with regional and provincial tourism strategies.
  • Support product development initiatives to reach international markets.
  • Conduct research on new platforms and approaches for sharing information.
  • Identify possibilities of packages targeting specific markets as identified by Parks Canada.
  • Support promotions development for Parks Canada and community publications.
  • Support social media strategies, updating contact lists for distribution of all promotional material.
  • Photo management for events and products.
  • Support delivery of Quality Service Standards.

Application Details

This position is open to students enrolled full-time in post-secondary studies and returning to school full-time in the summer/ fall of 2016.

Dates:                         January – April, 2016

Salary:                        $12.08 – $16.47 (dependent upon education and experience)

Location:                    Louisbourg, NS

  • All successful candidates must:
    • Be responsible for their own transportation to and from the Fortress of Louisbourg
    • Be able to work weekdays, weekends, shift work
    • Provide their own housing and travel
