Job/Project Description: Plant Ecology Research Assistant
The successful candidate will assist in research on forest ecosystems in Cape Breton County.
Participation in occupational health and safety training; collecting of plants, soils, and water; identification of plant species; determination of chemical and physical parameters in field and lab (e.g., pH); data analysis and research reporting for an externally funded project
The position requires ability to work independently; great team spirit; willingness to work outdoors in wilderness areas and perform physical labour such as digging soil profiles; ability to maintain professional rapport with external research partners; ability to identify plant collections; and computer skills for data analysis and research reporting.
To perform assigned research tasks diligently and in accordance with occupational health and safety standards

Hours: All positions are part-time, hours TBD
