The CBU Edventure Curriculum Development & Program Coordinator will assist in the development of camp curriculum as well as the coordination, delivery and presentation of camp curriculum. This position will offer experience designing and developing curriculum for a variety of fields of study to be delivered in camps during the summer to children and youth.
Demonstrated academic skills and research interests related to camp curriculum. Strong educational, environmental and recreation skills and experience with children ages 4-17. Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with groups. Ability to work in a team, and a demonstrated ability to be self-directed and work independently. Problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to work in a demanding environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information about children.
This position will offer experience designing and developing curriculum for a variety of fields of study to be delivered in camps during the summer to children and youth. The Curriculum Development & Program Coordinator will also assist in the hiring, supervising and training of summer camp staff and camp interns with faculty who are developing and delivering content during the camp. The Camp Curriculum & Program Development Coordinator will play a vital roll in the CBU Summer Camp experience.
The Curriculum Development & Program Coordinator will report to the Student Life & Community Engagement Officer The CBU Summer Camp Program is currently revising camp curriculum and includes Tech Camp, Science Camp, Theatre Camp, Lil Critters Pre-School Camp and a variety of Sports Camps.
Co-op Students Only: To be eligible you must be accepted into the BA, BACS, BSC or BBA Co-op Program.
Reporting to: Student Life & Community Engagement Officer, Cape Breton University
Wages/Hours per Week: $15/hr 35hrs/wk
Start Date: May 2, 2016 End Date: August 12, 2016
