The CCB was founded in 1944 by veterans of both world wars and incorporated in May, 1950. The national office is located in Ottawa. Programs include bursaries for post-secondary education, sports and recreation for the blind, training in adaptive devices, and mobile eye clinics for vision loss prevention.
The CCB is looking for a marketing and business student who is returning to school in the fall of 2016. We are looking for a student with strong personal and motivational skills and some knowledge of standard computer programs.
The Canadian Council the Blind (CCB) is looking to establish an e-commerce site in Cape Breton to
provide another path for local businesses particularly Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to interact
with present and potential customers. Eventually, the site will be connected to other parts of Canada
and beyond including the United States, India, and China. Another facet to the e-commerce site will be
memberships to provide additional income for persons with disabilities in Cape Breton.
The student will assist in the preparation of gathering market information in Cape Breton to assist in the launch of the website.
