Scott Stewart

Professor, Philosophy

Scott received a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Waterloo (1991), and has taught at CBU since 1990. He served as Chair of the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies for 14 years beginning in 2001. He was on the CBU Faculty Assocition (CBUFA) executive from 1993-2019 and served as its President from 2013-16. He is currently in his third year as President of the Association of Nova Scotia University Teachers (ANSUT). Scott is the co-author of Philosophizing About Sex (Broadview, 2015), the editor of two books with CBU Press, and a co-editor of a forthcoming book from Brill Press: Something Old … Something Blue: New Essays on the Erotic. He has given more than 100 talks at conferences in North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia, and has published more than 40 journal articles, book chapters, conference proceedings and enclopedia entries as well as more than 30 book reviews.
