Shannon School of Business Launches 2011-12 Lecture Series

Cape Breton University’s Shannon School of Business (SSOB) is pleased to present Andrew D. Gregson as the first lecturer for the 2011-12 SSOB lecture series. On Thursday, October 27 at 7 p.m. in the Royal Bank Lecture Theatre, Gregson will present Pricing Strategies for Small Businesses. The event is free and all are welcome to attend.

Participants can expect to learn about pricing methods in use today. Gregson will discuss how the big box stores price to achieve superior visibility in the marketplace. The second half of his talk will cover how businesses can build loyalty, profits and sales through value pricing, and how it can work in any business.

Gregson has captivated audiences with his pricing wisdom, bringing the benefits of big corporation best practice and academic research into the hands the owners of small businesses. Gregson has 15 years of experience as a business consultant to small and mid size businesses in Canada, the United States and the Caribbean.

To date, Gregson has analyzed and assisted over 130 businesses in the service, wholesale, distribution, manufacturing and logistics sectors. He is a graduate of Simon Fraser University, the University of Western Ontario and the London School of Economics.

In addition to the public lecture there is also a public workshop taking place on Friday, October 28 at 9 a.m. at the Cambridge Suites. This workshop will also include a talk by Sylvie Gerbasi of Grant Thorton, on Reducing Business Tax. There is a $20 fee for the public workshop and space is limited.
